Colombian aguardiente- a brief idea upon it

What do you mean by aguardiente? The term “water that is burning” is famous in Colombia. This term is popularly used for aguardiente, the national liquor of Colombia. It is an anise flavoured liqueur that is made of sugar cane that contains 24% to 29% alcohol. It is placed in a cocktail shaker with ice and can drink while you go for tracking mountains. Soda or lime soda can also be added to have a different taste. But remember, sugar-free aguardiente is not healthy and you should avoid it. The so-called ‘firewater’ or aguardiente is available in every corner of Colombia.

Colombian aguardiente is very famous due to its sale or marketing across the country. The manufacturers itself say that they have knowingly put less alcohol so that this drink or liquor, or whatever you say, can be supplied in other countries also and accepted by consumers. One more reason might be that water is a cheaper ingredient than alcohol.

Sometimes it might not be good for you to take Colombian aguardiente just because each Colombian state levies a monopoly or different tax on production and supply of liquor. So, you need to pay more from time to time.

When you are in Colombia, you will find different brands of aguardiente as each state has different manufacturing houses and own policies for production. So you have to purchase the one which is available in that particular state. It may cause a risk when you carry a bottle of aguardiente of different state to another state.

The manufacturing houses import sugar from central America, natural anise from Spain and pure alcohol from Bolivia to produce their liquor. After applying its own manufacturing technique, this aguardiente has not earned so much fame like those of rum and whiskey because it is kool-aid in nature. So everyone and in every country, it is not accepted as liquor. The youth and middle-aged people do not consider it as an alcoholic drink. Those people generally want liquors that can give them relaxation which is less derived from aguardiente of colombia.

When we talk about the best aguardiente Colombia, you will find most of the famous brands’ beverages. Many pieces of research are conducted to reveal the best brands with their best products in the market. This research includes taking feedback from consumers and dealers or wine shops. From dealers, a wide range of data is collected regarding which rum or which whiskey has been bought on a priority basis. This survey gives the basic idea which beverage is accepted by the local people in the state. So the result derived from the survey shows the mostly wanted liquor in Colombia.

In the liquor industry, no liquor stands at the top for a long period of time. Another brand comes and competes with the other and the next beverage gains the highest position. So the best aguardiente Colombia keeps on changing from time to time. Sometimes it depends on the survey and population also to determine the best.
